Utility Receipts Tax Public Notice

IN THE MATTER OF CRAWFORDSVILLE ELECTRIC LIGHT & POWER’S 30-DAY FILING TO REDUCE RATES TO EFFECTUATE THE REPEAL OF THE UTILITY RECEIPTS TAX UNDER HOUSE ENROLLED ACT 1002

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, on or about May 1, 2022, Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) a 30-Day Filing to reduce rates to effectuate the repeal of the Utility Receipts Tax (“URT”) under House Enrolled Act 1002 (the “Act”). On March 16, 2022, the Act was signed into law by Governor Eric Holcomb, removing the URT from utility bills for usage beginning July 1, 2022. This removal is approximately a 1.46% reduction in monthly electric bills. A Commission decision on this 30-Day Filing is anticipated no sooner than thirty days after the date of filing. Objection to this filing should be made to the IURC and the Office of Utility Consumer Counselor. The contact information for both of these offices is as follows:
